In lieu of an original post, I’m stealing an idea from Anne Zelenka and posting a handful of useful and / or interesting links.

A great post by Rachel Singer Gordon, on taking a proactive approach to librarianship as a career.  From the post (emphasis mine),

If we’re going to continue to remain relevant as a profession, we need first to take personal responsibility — for remaining informed, for building something that goes beyond ourselves, for moving forward in our careers. Great tips for keeping your 20-something employees actively engaged and eager to work.  I usually hate to pigeonhole people, but the tips are good — and to be fair, I see how these suggestions could apply to employees of any age.

An interesting piece regarding Michael McGrorty’s search for a job with the Los Angeles County Library.  The details get into some heady legalese, but it’s still worth a look.
